Aston Villa is closing in on appointing Nigel Pearson as their new manager

After a brutal season in English Premier League Aston Villa is making some changes. Currently the week 36 premier league predictions have them on the sharp side of a record breaking streak. It has been widely reported that Aston Villa are on the verge of appointing a new manager and the rumors are that it is going to be Nigel Pearson. It is believed that he is the hot favourite ahead of David Moyes who is also in the running for the head coach role in the West Midlands.

Pearson was in charge of Leicester City last season and managed to help them avoid the drop. He is highly experienced in the Championship, which is the league that Villa will be playing in after being relegated.

Villa are in a huge mess and if they lose their next game, they will set a new record of 11 defeats in a row which was set back in the 1962-63 season. Not exactly the kind of 50+ year old record you want to be associated with breaking. Anyone making EPL predictions for week 36, are confident to have them down as a loss.

Villa is going to have to lay off hundreds of staff at the club as they prepare for life in the championship. All of their high paid stars will be be sold to cut their wage bill to cope with the loss of revenue. They are desperate to get rid of Gabby Agbonlahor, who has been caught smoking shisha while on a break and was pictured at a party on the day that his team was relegated.

In their last game they were beaten 4-2 by Southampton and it would’ve been a lot more if the Saints finishing had been better on the day. They face Watford next and experts making EPL Week 36 predictions do not expect them to turn things around at the weekend.

The Championship is the toughest first division in the world and the mess that Villa is in, it is highly likely that they will not jump straight back up to the Premier League. They are literally going to have to revamp completely the club and start again. If they get things wrong, it could be the end of the club as financially they would not be able to cope with dropping down another division.

EPL Predictions for Week 36

My EPL predictions for Week 36 are that Leicester City is finally going to lose a game when they face Manchester United. Spurs will beat Chelsea away from home after suffering a draw in their last game against West Brom. If that does happen then, the title race is back on, and Tottenham is still in with a shout to win the title this season. If I am wrong, though, then the foxes could have the title sewn up and be the biggest surprise winners in the Premier League history.
